Now you may be wondering what was going on in my last post and what the flip is “dark”!?!
Well dear reader I’ll tell all! Never fear! Just let me ramble and I’ll get to the point. At the community college my dad taught at ,just across from the theatre ( on a side note that is HOW you spell theatre the right way NOT theater!) there was a sculpture that was simple a metal square in the dirt, nothing more, it was square. My dad LOVED this sculpture. Neither my family, his students, or I could ever figure out why. We all thought he flipped his lid, once and for all! But he simply liked it because it was simple, not over complicated or over thought, like alot of art has become. He would say, “keep it simple student (or stupid)” when ever we where working on art projects this would always come up.
To this day I’m grateful for those words, not only because it taught me to keep my art work clean and not over complicated, but also keep my life simple too. Not to over complicate my life with worry or stress. As an art student my life can get really complicated, and I haven’t been to school in almost a year! (I start back in April at BYU- Idaho! Yay!)
So what I’m trying to say is don’t over think you’re art, you’re life, anything really!!
